KUALA LUMPUR (May 26): IJM Land Berhad, in collaboration with the Amona Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Urban Park located at Pantai Sentral Park in Kuala Lumpur. Spanning 0.86 acres, the park will form part of the 252-acre Taman Rimba Bukit Kerinchi Forest Reserve and is strategically positioned next to the 58-acre Pantai Sentral Park township — a vibrant, nature-integrated development with a gross development value (GDV) of RM8.3 billion.

IJM Land has already invested RM1.9 million into the park’s development, with completion slated for the end of 2025. The Urban Park will feature scenic walking trails, shaded communal spaces, and a wide variety of flora, including 30 different plant species. Enhancing accessibility, a 300-metre pedestrian bridge will also be constructed to link the park directly to the upcoming Pantai Dalam MRT3 station, offering seamless connectivity for future commuters.

Datuk Tony Ling Thou Lung, CEO of IJM Land, emphasized that the development goes beyond typical urban planning by promoting harmony with nature and reducing the community’s carbon footprint. “Pantai Sentral Park coexists with the adjacent forest reserve. We're not just creating physical connections between spaces, but building a sustainable, green township linked to the future MRT line,” he said.

The Urban Park is envisioned as more than a recreational area — it is designed to become a key social space serving residents of Pantai Sentral Park as well as nearby communities in Bangsar, Mid Valley, Pantai Dalam, Bangsar South, and Damansara. “Communities flourish in spaces that encourage interaction. This park is meant to foster connections and shared experiences,” Ling added.

This initiative also reflects IJM Land’s commitment to corporate social responsibility through its participation in the DBKL Park Adoption Program. The programme, in partnership with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), focuses on preserving and enhancing urban green spaces within the Klang Valley.

In addition, Ling shared updates on the company’s RM3.9 billion mixed-use development, Enlace @ Pantai Sentral Park, which includes residential, commercial, and healthcare components. Enlace Suites 1 — the first phase of serviced residences, comprising 438 units — was soft-launched in March 2025 with a take-up rate of 40% to date. The launch of Enlace Suites 2 is expected to follow in June. The project also includes Enlace CO (office), Enlace Shoppes (retail), and Enlace Retreat (wellness and healthcare centre).

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Communications Minister and Lembah Pantai MP Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, DBKL executive director of planning Datuk Zulkurnain Hassan, Amona Group CEO Datuk Che Hasnani Che Hassan, and IJM Land’s top management.
